CURVE ANNOUNCE PHIZZ-WHIZZING TOUR AND EXTRA DATES FOR ROALD DAHL'S THE TWITS

Due to gloriumptious audience demand, Curve is delighted to not only announce an additional five performances of Roald Dahl’s The Twits, but the classic tale of the most spiteful and revolting couple you could ever meet will also go on tour in 2017. The Twits joins other recent Made at Curve productions such as Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Sister Act, Hairspray, Wipers and the recently announced Sukanya on the road.

Curve Chief Executive Chris Stafford and Artistic Director Nikolai Foster said:

“Due to popular demand, we are thrilled our co-production of The Twits will play for an extra week at Curve this Christmas-time before going on a national tour. Max Webster’s production promises to be a treat for everyone and we are delighted to be able to share our work with audiences across the UK, establishing Curve’s reputation as a leading touring producer.”

Directed by Max Webster (The Lorax at The Old Vic), Curve’s mischievous new co-production with Rose Theatre Kingston will visit Aylesbury Waterside Theatre (24 – 28 Jan 2017), Brighton Theatre Royal (31 Jan – 4 Feb), Royal & Derngate, Northampton (14 – 18 Feb), Northern Stage (21 – 25 Mar), and Nuffield, Southampton (28 Mar – 2 Apr), with further dates to be added. The show then plays at Rose Theatre, Kingston (5 – 16 Apr).

The Twits is the second Made at Curve Christmas show to tour. Created specifically for young people and their families, The Twits follows the unprecedented success of Nikolai Foster’s production of The Witches, which is also set to run at West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds over Christmas. The productions are programmed to coincide with the Dahl 100 anniversary.

Roald Dahl’s The Twits tells the tale of the most spiteful and revolting couple you could ever hope to meet. Mr Twit has a very hairy face. His beard is spiky and smelly. It also contains cornflakes, sardines and even some stilton. Mrs Twit is equally as foul and she hates Mr Twit just as much as Mr Twit hates her.

They spend their days playing wicked tricks on each other and mistreating Muggle-Wump monkeys. They also have a particularly sticky trick to catch Roly-Poly birds for their bird pies. But not for much longer because the monkeys have a cunning plan to teach those terrible twits a lesson.
